Our story begins one hot October day as I debated over whether to climb into my tree stand for an evening hunt, and a gentleman named Virgil Oliver drove into my yard in a white Buick.  With a flashing smile and a firm shake of the hand, he proclaimed that my hay meadow had been selected as a drilling site by Stephens Productions, a Stephens Group.   His smile soon faded as I told him in no uncertain terms what I thought of his gas well.  "Hey, hey! I'm just a messenger boy," Virgil claimed.  And, I told him that I was a messenger, too.  And, please carry my message back to Stephens Productions, a Stephens Group.  Thus began our story.  Right here in Johnson County, Arkansas.  The ensuing dealings with the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission, and the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, as well as Stephens Productions, a Stephens Group shall be published on this site.  The lines between industry and government blur in many cases and I am not really sure if our state government is elected, or bought.  You be the judge.
